How the Heck Do You Become an Entrepreneur?
This specific blog has a specific purpose with super specific goals. Specifically, we wanted to capture our learnings as we went through the process of officializing some of our business ideas so that we can demystify them for other aspiring entrepreneurs.
Do we know what we’re doing? Nope!
Are we going to do it anyway? Yes!
Are we going to be successful? Maybe!
Will we learn either way? You betcha.

Dipping Our Toes in the Entrepreneurship Pool
The hardest part of having an idea is having no idea what to do with it. Recently, we here at Midday Society have started stretching into the unknown to figure things out. One of those ideas was an Etsy store where we could share some of our passions and friendship foundations with others.
Another is publishing.
Renelly and I often share parallel journeys on different paths - it’s been a recurring theme of our friendship and of our lives. Her husband has recently finished writing a story he’s had in his head for a few years. I, too, have finally decided to allow some of the tales bouncing in my brain to be seen by others.
And now, we’re both on the path to self-publishing. Her to help her husband’s horror suspense novel find its audience, and myself publishing my first children’s picture book.
As I said, same journey - different paths.
Maybe these specific journeys aren’t yours, but we’ve definitely had some learnings we can share SPECIFICALLY, but also some learnings that will apply more broadly.
In coming months we’ll dive into:
- Getting comfortable in the uncomfortable - pushing past that large feeling that something unknown is unknowable.
- A viable process and the hang ups - putting an order to what we figured out, out of order.
- A realistic look at the upfront cost - having a dream is great. Having money to spend on it is a necessity.
- The good ole GTM plan (go-to-market) - we aren’t here yet, but we will share how we brought our ideas to market
